Is there a specific code that a non-physician (MSW or LSW) can use for coordination of care with outside agencies? Our practice deals a lot with juvenile and adult sex offenders and victims of sexual abuse, our therapists are required to coordinate care and exchange information with Probation & Parole and Children and Youth Services, but the client's services are being paid by their Managed Care Insurance plan.
Our therapists spend a great deal of time on the phone and even face to face with these agencies, and I feel that we are losing both time and money by not filing claims for this coordination of care.

Thank you!

Our providers, social workers too, use the 90882 Environment Intervention code for situations like this. We are government so we do not bill so I am not sure if you would get paid for this code or not. There is also the 90887 that my provider use when coordinating care with the family or employer. Both of these are non-face to face with the patient.
