Hello,
I have a question as to the correct CPT code to bill for a T12-L1 ESI. Would this be considered thoracic or lumbar. The provider has documented a dx of M54.16 (lumbar radiculopathy) so I am leaning toward 62323, but the T12 is throwing me off. Any assistance appreciated! :)
 
Hi there, the CPT manual states that interlaminar epidurals are coded based on the region where the needle entered the patient's body. This information should be in the operative report.
