Does anyone happen to know if there is any Correct (E/M) Coding Rates Percentages for Providers to acheive published ? (Hopefully from the AAPC)

My thought is that the percentage should be between 90%- 95%?
I am looking for a concrete number if there actually is one published.

Thanx

I don't know if there is one or not. Be interesting to see if someone posts that info. We have internal numbers set up as part of our compliance plan, not sure where they came from but they are pretty strict.

I do know if the OIG puts you on a CIA they have very strict numbers and they are published. You can read the CIAs on their website.

I believe that they do a sample of 50 claims and if you have less than 95% they do a much more indepth audit, if you are 95% or better they let it go for another year. They are very clear in saying that no percentage of error is acceptable though.
