If anyone out there has taken the Certified Orthopedic Surgical Coder Exam. I would love your feedback.
The only area I do not code on a regular basis is spinal section (22010-22899). Is there a lot on this section?
Also I see that there is some E/M on the exam. I do code E/M, Consults, but I only use the Organ Systems 1997 guideline.
Will we also have to know the 1995 guidelines?
Any information would be helpful.
Thank you,
Pamela

Hi, I took the COSC last September. There are quite a few spine questions, as well as foot/ankle. There are also staged surgeries. If you're good with everything but spine, you should be fine.
