Post op dx code: rt patella dislocation, recurrent

Procedure performed: medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction, lateral, and distal patellar tendon oversew and transfer
Assistant: _______APRN. A skilled pair of hands was required for neurovascular protection, retraction, and proper placement
Op report: pt brought into in the op room. After general endotracheal anesthesia was induced, prepped and draped. Opened up her previous anterior knee incision and then performed the lateral release, we then identified the patella, we drilled 2 holes in the patella where we could around the poly that was there and put in an allograft, a hamstring is there, looped for a new reconstructive medial patellofemoral ligament repair. We then idenitified bone just proximal to the total knee implant and drilled Beath pin across. We overreamed with a 6 mm reamer and then transferred a tightrope and our allograft reconstruction through both bones and then flipped our button and tightened up the graft, which produced and excellent repair. The patella dud track from 0-90 very nicely. We did notice a slightly valugus knee. We did take the lateral half od the patella tendon from insertion and oversewed it to the medial sie by flipping it over. After this was done, we did confirm the lateral release that we just reperformed to release the soft tissue on the side. We then irrigated and closed. We placed a mesh when we made our parapatellar arthrotomy to help prevent it from stretching out. We sewed that in a Fiberwire from proximal to distal. We then closed with 2-0 vicryl and staples to skin, put a sterile dressing on, and took to recovery in stable condition
