I am curious how other PCP offices bill for counseling with a patient and care givers in the primary care setting. I say to bill an E&M of 99214 for 25 minutes face to face counseling, My provider seems to think I should be able to bill a counseling code as the 25 minutes was used to discuss the elderly patients ability to continue to take care of herself. Wondering if anyone has any familiarity billing this?
