Is it appropriate to use 99201 - 99204 for counseling regarding flu? We do not give the H1N1 vaccine in our office, but our doctors counsel extensive on the vaccine and disease.
 
These are new patient problem visit codes. The scenario you describe is preventive in nature so no those would not be appropriate if that is the only service provided.

Maybe you are thinking of 99401-99404? I supposed these would be appropriate but they are time based so documentation would have to support it. I don't have providers doing this so I have no idea what the outcome would be.
