For the new office E&M guidelines, can you count an independent interpretation if imaging is done on the same date but not interpreted by the physician? The imaging center is located in our building and we bill the TC portion of the imaging (MRI/CT) but not the professional portion (outside radiologist interprets and reports). Example: Ortho specialty orders MRI to be done prior to the office visit. Office visit is for going over the MRI results. Independent interpretation? or Review of test result?
