question. if the stimulation and recording sites were both moved on the same nerve is that counted as a new nerve? so my provider seems to think that by moving the stimulation and the recording electrode to do the orthrodromic vs the conventional antidromics that should count as a separate nerve. The rule states each type of nerve conduction is counted only once when multiple sites on the same nerve are stimulated or recorded.
he stimulated the sensory nerve. He did the following.

Median R at the wrist (antidromic)
Median R at the wrist (orthodromic)

meaning he just went one way and then the opposite on the same nerve. I am telling him no, this cannot be counted as a separate nerve just because you went one way and then back the other. This falls in line with each nerve can only be counted once because its the same nerve.

Am I missing something? he says he distinctly remembers this allowable. Can someone please elaborate and help me understand if I am wrong?

thanks lost and confused
