Wiki Covering physician modifier?

Our Cardiologist passed away 6/19 The practice is in the middle of replacing him but his patients needed to be treated so the practice temp hired a "covering physician" who is par under his own tin, but not the practice.... What is the correct way to bill these visits to the ins? I heard there was a "covering physician modifier" or "correct" method to bill so the practice gets paid?

Certainly not an expert in this, but I don't think there's a way to bill for this, except under the covering temp physician. You cannot use Locum Tenens as the other physician is deceased. If anyone has additional information, please chime in.
