I work with a substance abuse facility that has a CLIA waiver. We recently had an individual reach out to us about a new COVID-19 antibody test that gives results in 15 minutes. I am wondering if any one has billed for these tests, and if insurance is accepting and paying for these tests? I will give all information that I have received below.

Lochness Medical
Specimen: Finger Prick (lancet)
Results: 15 minutes
Tests For: IgG /IgM Antibody
Waived Status: CLIA Waived (Authorized by FDA under EUA)
CPT Code: 86328

Around my area, no one is doing rapid fingerstick, they are doing rapid nasal swab. The scoop is that there is one local HMO that will pay, otherwise its cash only, and they are changing $250 and more per test. I saw the prices for the test itself, and I think people should be ashamed.
