Wiki covid pneumonia

Hello at one time I thought there was a guideline that said the provider didn't have to say pneumonia due to covid; however I can't find it and according to the ICD10 it has to say pneumonia confirmed as due to COVID19, meaning it must be stated as due to.
The documentation now must say it is due too?
Thank you

I think if the provider has documented that the patient has 'COVID pneumonia', it's safe to assume that the pneumonia is due to COVID. It's just as if the diagnosis was 'bacterial pneumonia' or 'viral enteritis' you would code the relationship. In this context, you don't need the exact wording 'due to'.
