A telemedicine encounter specifically for COVID concerns (possible exposure, asking for an order for testing, discussing test results) that the doctor writes "10 min": level 99212 or 99213?
 
If you are only coding based on time, I would say 99212 as CPT states that the typical time for this level of visit is 10 minutes. If, however, the elements meet criteria for a 99213 and the medical necessity is there, then I would code the 99213.
