Hi everyone. My name is Oluwatosin Adeyemi, I am a newly Certified CPC-A. I am looking for entry level positions or internships that support me to work remotely.
I will appreciate any advice or connections.

I'm in the same boat. I just passed my exam this morning but I've been looking for months as far as seeing what's all out there since I passed my course. Most want 2+ years experience. Any tips or advice is MORE than welcomed.

same boat cant find anything as well.. it seems no one wants the A at the end of CPC even tho i have over 20 years experience but just became officially certified in december

Same Boat. I passed in August and still haven't found a job. I've been looking for months, and everything is the same, they want more than 2+ years of exirence but you can't get it when you can't find something that will take you as an Apprentice.

I started out as a receptionist for a retirement community in 2017. It had independent living apartments, an assisted living, and they were just finishing building a nursing home.
When they opened the nursing home I was promoted to admin assistant and learned how to do all the scanning and indexing for the nursing home. When the Health Information Manager left a few years later they offered me the job - corporate was impressed with my work and actually recommended me for the job even though scanning and indexing was all the experience I had. I learned ICD-10 coding for skilled nursing care. (And a lot of other things about medical record management, requests, blah blah, etc.)
I decided to get credentialed and chose the AAPC over AHIMA. I passed my CPC exam in Nov 2025. Since I've worked as an HIM with diagnosis coding for 8 years so I submitted the "2-year employment verification" in Feb 2026 and they removed my A by March 2026. I had my HIM Consultant who knows what I do fill it out. If you have a current employer that knows you code/work with medical records just have them fill out the form from the Apprentice Removal Requirements page.

Hello, I am a newly certified CPC-A. Any help in obtaining experience to code is greatly appreciated. I am on LinkedIn as I am also working as a Medical Collector. :)
