Seeking a Remote Medical Coding, or Medical Billing and Coding Specialist position.
I have worked in Ophthalmology for the past 15 years, as an Ophthalmic Technician and in that role one of my specific duties was to set up for physician procedures prior to their arrival in the office. This task entailed communication, organization, dependability, attention to detail and team work. So I understand the importance of these qualities and have a good work ethic, which makes me a good fit for a Medical Coding position.

In my most recent role as a Medical Billing and Coding Specialist, I have utilized my expertise to review medical records and operative reports to ensure appropriate ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS codes are assigned, adding modifiers as necessary for physician services. Analyzed, corrected and resubmitted rejected, or denied claims. Consulted with the physicians / medical staff, as needed to clarify documentation that was unclear for coding purposes, which provided education and better communication improving overall patient care. I have spent the past six months concentrating on the CPC certification program through AAPC and have completed and received my certification.

While I have enjoyed working in Ophthalmology for the past 15 years, I'm ready to explore other career options and still pursue my passion in the healthcare domain.
