I passed my CPC certification exam in October of last year. Since ICD-10 is quickly approaching I just recently finished the 16 hour online course and passed that exam. I was told that I would now need to retake my CPC exam using ICD-10 to become recertified (after October). Is this true? I feel like I missed the boat on this announcement.

Please help clarify!

no that is not true. You have to pass the icd 10 proficiency exam by 12-31-15 given by the AAPC. You have two options; either take a time test of 75 questions for $60.00 with one free retake if you need it or pay for the icd 10 course but I am not sure how much it currently costs as the AAPC runs promotions.

Thank you so much for your help! I have already passed the ICD-10 Proficiency exam given by AAPC. So I think I'm good!

You just made my day!

Thank you again!
