Responsible for the development of the Family Medicine practice. Opened in September 1985 with one physician. Over the years have added Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners. Currently oversee one Physician and one Physician Assistant.
Have brought the practice from paper to electronic operations in the areas of accounting (QuickBooks), billing, scheduling, ERX, and communication. Currently working towards full implementation of our EHR. Achieved Medical Home Certification as a "Medical Home for Children" in the State of Colorado (August 2010). The Certification process included development of Quality Improvement Projects and relaying quarterly data results to the physician, staff and discussing continuing improvement.
Supervisory duties include 5 full-time employees, their schedules, benefits, payroll and evaluations, and interviewing and hiring of fill-in employees and new employees.
Other responsibilities include all claim appeals and complicated coding scenarios.

Administered several modes of therapy to patients including ventilator support and responding to Cardiac Arrests as part of the RT Team. Performed diagnostic procedures such as Cardiopulmonary Stress Testing, Holter Monitor application, Pulmonary Functions, Electrocardiograms, Electroencephalograms, and was a member of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program. Completed Quality Assurance Studies, Cost Comparison Studies, Monthly Procedure Reports and Budget Considerations.

Organized programs and support groups for the Coal Miners of Fremont County.
This position was created by a Federal Grant and supplied the State of Colorado
