I think it depends on what job you are performing, or maybe what job you are looking to move to in the future. If its strictly coding, I don't know that having an RHIT would really be needed. On the other hand, if you are in more of a managing type position, or doing other health information functions, such as updating medical records, tracking physician needs for medical records, you may want to have the RHIT. I don't think it would hurt your to have the RHIT in additon to your CPC, but consider what you want to get out of the RHIT. Just food for thought, but hope it helps.
