For those of you who hold this credential, I have a couple of questions for you, please.

I am considering this credential, is this designed for those who work in compliance (such as a compliance officer), or is it for those like me who are coders but are wanting to have this knowledge base to keep our practice in compliance?

How do you keep up with the CEU requirements?

Thanks.

Dawson, the credential is attainable for coders and other HIM professionals. I can't speak to its design, but it is challenging. If you want, email me and we can discuss it further. The most tedious part may be in preparation; it's a tad different from the coding certifications.

As for CEUs, I'm trying to figure that piece out right now.

Anyhow, we can chat soon.

Kevin,

I appreciate your insight as always. I seem to be going back and forth between this credential or the CPC-P. I like the idea of having the "payer perspective" for my job, but I also feel that I need to demonstrate knowledge of compliance as well. So, I'm torn.

I think the CPC-P would be more beneficial and easy to keep up with the CEUs.

We will chat very soon.

Thanks.
