the pt had an internal/external biliary tube change done and at the end of the procedure the physician did the following:

An area of granulation tissue that had developed in the region of the prior suture was cauterized with silver nitrate.

Would this get cpt 17250 or is it included with the tube exchange? There is nothing in Dr. Z about it, and I can't find any information to tell me if it is included.

I bill for 17250...usually for a G-Tube/GJ Tube change...and there is excess granulation tissue...i bill for the Tube change and then change my diagnosis for 17250 to 701.5.
Don't know of any bundling issues.
