I have a new physician to our practice that states she has always billed for CPT 22310 (Closed treatment of vertebral fracture w/o manipulation) in conjunction to either an office visit or hospital follow up. I was under the impression that in order to bill this code the doctor must be present at the time of applying the brace and this must be thoroughly documented and not just a script written and or ordered. I want to ensure she gets all the reimbursement she is due but I more importantly I want to make sure she is compliant and we are not billing wrong.
