I received a denial for the assistant surgeon on code 22850 (AS) because it was bundling. I added a 59 modifier and the still denied it. The Medicare rep told me there is another modifier that will unbundle it and I have no clue what it would be. Does anyone know the answer to this question? I would appreciate it

They could possibly prefer XS or one of the other X mods. What other CPTs is 22850 being billed with? Also, did the surgeon's claim pay, and if so, did it have a different modifier?

They paid the surgeon but are taking the money back. I looked in the CCI book and I do not see what other code it would be bundling with The other codes are 63056, 22830, 22840 I never used the X modifiers
