If the pulmonologist comes into Radiology to perform paracentesis, utilizing our U/S guidance, can the facility also code this single code, 32555, which includes imaging guidance? This code now includes the guidance. I don't see where this code has a technical and professional component. Pulmonologist codes 32555, but it is the Radiology resource, equipment, technologist assisting with U/S guidance. The radiologist simply reads the image, but does not assist in the procedure.
