CAN SOMEONE PLEASE ANSWER A QUESTION FOR ME IN REGARDS TO CODE 68801. IS THIS A UNILATERAL CODE? IF THE PATIENT HAS THIS PROCEDURE ON THE SAME SIDE AND BOTH UPPER AND LOWER HOW SHOULD THIS BE SUBMITTED? SHOULD WE USE EYELID MODIFIERS? OR WILL IT ONLY BE REIMBURSED BY LT OR RT ANYWAY?

PLEASE HELP!
THANKS!

68801 Is a unilateral procedure , if done on BOTH sides use a 50 modifier. If done on one side use RT or LT. It is not lid specific.

Yes this is a unilateral code, it is not lid specific. Modifiers RT, LT or 50 for bilateral.
