Wiki Cpt 85060

Hi!!

I am hoping to get some help! We have Physician's that are billing CPT 85060 for Inpatient patients. They are dictating on the consult note a seperate paragraph about the blood smear results.

Are we okay to charge that code??

From my understanding, and how we bill, 85060 can only be billed to Medicare if it is inpatient.. and yes a peripheral blood smear is billable under 85060- but cannot be billed in addition to consult codes such as 80500 /80502
