Wiki Cpt 85610

I recently received a denial from Medicare of CO-170 (payment is denied when performed/billed by this type of provider) for the above CPT code and my provider was our PA (physician assistant). This was for monitoring PT/INR on a patient taking warfarin. Can anyone give me a reference/billing guideline as to when this type of provider was excluded from providing this service.

did you also submit the appropriate EM code with that 85610?? Alone they won't cover it.
