If multiple units of CPT 88311 are billed, would you use a modifier?? Or would you bill it in units??

I don't think so. If multiple samples were examined then I would use 59 on the samples but not on the processes used on the samples. I would just indicate the number of units. Would be very interested to hear what others think because I have pondered this myself.

I know that you can only bill one 88311 per specimen. And I would bill in units.
