Hello! I have a provider who performed a revision MTP fusion (the prior fusion failed)-we added a 22 modifier due to the fact that there is not a revision code. The op report does support the extra work done to complete the procedure however we are being asked by an auditor why we didn't bill an unlisted since the provider did not dictate a separate paragraph to support the modifier. I explained that since there is not a revision code (and the info in the op report supports the extra work involved) the modifier is correct. By chance does anyone have any info from AAOS, AMA, CPT Asst etc regarding revision procedures? Thanks so much! ~Michelle
