What is the date of service reference to bill out 59515, the date of the first post partum visit?? Our organization, when appropriate, bills out 59430 when the global package is broken up, we never bill 59515.

This is the description I found from the ACGOG "For reimbursement of the delivery and postpartum care codes, the provider or provider group practice must render, at a minimum, both the delivery and at least one evaluation and management service four to six weeks after delivery".

So if your OB was the provider who performed the cesarean and also will be providing postpartum, 59515 would be appropriate. The starting DOS would be the date of the cesarean.

59515 is for the actual c section + postpartum care- I bill this on DOS of c section
