I have come across the Primary Care doctor I do charge entry has started using CPT Code 90610 along with the Annual E/M visit for children under 18. Is this acceptable I have only ever seen this code used for Medicare patients with their Annual Wellness? If someone could assist please? Thanks
:)

Depending on the age of the wellness exam for pediatric patients under 18 we use 96160 when we do a depression screening on the patient, 96161 for a maternal depression screening or 96110 when a we do a developmental screening such as the MCHAT. You may want to check with your payers as they require certain forms/formatting for these screenings. Look up the Bright Futures Guidelines thru the American Academy of Pediatrics.
