How do you code cpt code 92225?Is it a bilateral procedure ?If patient had both eyes done , do we bill with modifer LT, RT, or 50. We received a denial because we only did one eye and insurance company want us to use a modifer 52 because only one eye was done. :confused:
 
We use the Ophthalmic Coding Coach from AAO, which states that 92225 is inherently bilateral. We typically don't use RT, LT, or 50, and I have never used a -52.
