I have a claim that denied from Medicare due to invalid cpt code. When I spoke to them they stated that a HCPCS code was needed. CPT code 28291 was used. Upon review in HCPCS I found that L8642 is the same procedure. Only the description for it is implant. I am not sure if these means just the DME for the implant or this is the code I should be using for Medicare. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
