Hello.
My company specializes in doing remote diagnostic testing on mobile units. Currently we do EKG testing with a standard 12 lead EKG. We are looking into using Kardia Mobile 1-3 lead. My question is, has anyone had experience using this device as an EKG machine on multiple patients, instead of its intended use as a single patient, every 30 day monitoring system? What CPT code would be appropriate to use for this service? We do not feel the manufacturer suggested codes of 99453, 99454, 99457, and 99091 are appropriate since we are not using this as a remote monitoring device. We're also unsure if it qualifies for 93040 because the report is much more than just a rhythm strip output. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
