Upper EUS
Indications: Dysphagia, For Botulinum (Botox) injection, Abnormal
manometry-GEJ outflow obstruction
Impression: - Z-line irregular, at the gastroesophageal
junction. Biopsied.
- Erythematous mucosa in the gastric body and
antrum. Biopsied.
- Erythematous duodenopathy. Biopsied.
- There was no sign of significant pathology in the
esophagus.
- Endosonographic images of the stomach were
unremarkable.
- Biopsies were taken with a cold forceps for
histology in the middle third of the esophagus.
- An area in the gastroesophageal junction
successfully injected with botulinum toxin.


Findings: ENDOSCOPIC FINDING: :
The Z-line was irregular and was found at the
gastroesophageal junction. Biopsies were taken with
a cold forceps for histology.
The exam of the esophagus was otherwise normal.
Patchy mildly erythematous mucosa without bleeding
was found in the gastric body and in the gastric
antrum. Biopsies were taken with a cold forceps for
histology.
Patchy mildly erythematous mucosa without active
bleeding and with no stigmata of bleeding was found
in the duodenal bulb and in the second portion of
the duodenum. Biopsies were taken with a cold
forceps for histology.
Biopsies were taken with a cold forceps in the
middle third of the esophagus for histology.
An area at the gastroesophageal junction was
successfully injected with 100 units botulinum toxin.
ENDOSONOGRAPHIC FINDING: :
There was no sign of significant endosonographic
abnormality in the esophagus.
Endosonographic images of the stomach were
unremarkable.

In my understanding 43259 is only US and it doesn't include BX
 
I see CPT 43237 + 43239.



I almost went with 43259, but I don’t see mention of the duodenum check with EUS.
