Wiki CPT for Hip Resurfacing?

Does anyone know the correct code to use for hip resurfacing? Authorizations are being requested for CPT 27130 & not sure if this is correct.

That code is for hip replacement, is that what the plan is?

S2118 or an Unlisted, depending on carrier. It is not the same procedure as total hip arthroplasty so 27130 not appropriate.

Some insurances require S2118 and some use 27130.. You have to check with each payor, and need to check every 6-12 months. For the 27130 I add -22 for the extra complexity and time/work involved. Most don't pay on the -22 however.
