Good afternoon all,

Having some trouble with the above procedure. In the past, 60659 (Unlisted Laparoscopic Procedure of Endocrine Glands) has been used to receive payment on the above procedure, as it is a newer procedure developed in Korea, and over the last several years has been utilized by a small but growing number of surgeons.

I am receiving a denial from a carrier stating there is a more specific code for the procedure. Is anyone aware of this code? Should the regular total thyroidectomy code be used?

Any insight is much appreciated.
