Dr. removed a 3x2 cm basal cell carcinoma of the jaw. I need confirmation for the CPT code please. I chose 11646 but upon looking at the fee schedule- it is quite expensive so I am questioning my decision. I would really appreciate some feed back. Thank you in advance.
 
You must have multiplied the diameters.. It is based on the largest excised diameter which is the lesion plus margin. If all you have documented is 3x2 cm then you would ho with 3cm as the size. Which is 11603
