Dr. calls it exostecomy -28104, but I'm kind of thinking arthrotomy - 28020? 28020 is a component of 28104. Just not sure which one better describes the procedure.

EXOSTECTOMY OF THE LEFT TALO-NAVICULAR JOINT

The dissection was carried down through the superficial fascia, and the deep fascia was identified. The deep fascia was then incised slightly lateral to the long Extensor Digitorum Longus tendon. There were noted capsular structures, which were also incised in the same length of the skin incision.

Periosteal structures and capsular structures of the talo-navicular joint were then reflected sharply from the underlying bone, exposing a sharp dorsal exostoses at the proximal aspect of navicular and talar head. By using an osteotome and a mallet, the exostoses were resected and passed off the table. The areas were then rasped smooth and flushed with sterile saline solution. There was noted a large amount of synovitic tissue, which was sharply excised and passed off the table. The areas were again fully flushed with sterile saline solution.

Thanks!

Good thinking, littlelore! It WAS one of each, a tarsal bone and the talus, don't know why I was fixated on the navicular. :) Some days are like that.
