Description of Procedure:.....A transverse incision was made overlying the distal interphalangeal joint. Subcutaneous tissues were divided. The joint was identified and a white granular appearing tissue was noted consisting with gouty synovitis. No purulence was encountered. Fluid and soft tissue samples were sent for culture and for formal permanent specimen. No formalin was used Wound was then thoroughy irrigated.
Can anyone help with the CPT? I'm looking at 26080. Any help is much appreciated.
