I am wondering if there is a cheaper way of getting the cpt updates every year. Last year when my director had to get the updates she only had to pay a couple of hundred dollars. This year she had to pay $15 thousand for the updates. Of course everything we do is electronic and she had to pay for each login. Nothing has changed from year to year. We use the same EMR as in years past and maybe just a few more people using the system.

So we are open to suggestions on how to receive the updates cheaper.

The CPT book for 2017 would be the best suggestion. You can preorder these books now and the price is less than if you wait. Also they ship in September. If you pre order the e-book they will send you the download Sept 1. Also the CPT changes book is an excellent resource. Again I recommend the pre order now. The download for the e-book will come mid November. I am not sure why your office paid 15 grand but I am sure you more than just the CPT updates for that price.
