I am having a hard time understanding the doctors note. He has I&D for a pterional approach for I&D and the procedure placement of a lumbar drain right-sided craniotomy. I want to go with code 61510 because the drain is incl. in the proc but he also has that another doc will be doing a endoscopic repair of the mucocele and placement of an patch graft of the inner portion of the sphenoid sinus. Am I looking at the right code 61510 for the craniotomy?
I feel I am confusing myself. I don't think I can code for the drain itself. The patient does have a CSF leak but she isn't getting a shunt.
