My Doctor is a pulmonologist who is seeing a patient in Hospital setting for the initial evaluation of Critical care hence we billed the code 99291. Now from the same practice the Nurse Practitioner is also seeing the same patient during his stay on the same date on a different time. Should I code 99292 for the NP because we already billed the Primary code 99291. Please let me know
But the insurance are all denying the claim stating that the two providers are not of the same specialty. Any suggestions.
