hello,
When billing critical care - can multiple drs. from the same practice accumulate their critical care time together (on same day) to make up critcal care time for cpt 99291 (30-74 mins) or is it only one physician? I know only one physician can bill cpt 99291. So for example if 2 drs from same practice - 1st Dr. bills 35 mins of CC and the 2nd Dr. has 45mins. of CC - can I combine them and bill 99291 and 99292? I have read so many things and some articles say that you can and some say that you cant. Please advise

Yes. If Dr. A documents 35 min Critical care time and meets requirements to bill then Dr. B from the same practice comes in behind Dr. A and does another 45 Min Critical care time you could bill 99291 for Dr. A and 99292 for Dr. B.
Physicians belonging same to the same group practice bill as one provider. Meaning it is a cumulative time total.
