I am coding for a pulmonary ICU physician. The patient is in CC, in which I am coding 99291. The physician wrote on the patient census CPR x 3. My question is, as I have yet to ever come across this, is do I bill 92950 with 99291 or do I do a quantity 3 with 92950? Thank you for your help!

Yes, you would bill this in addition to the 99291, and I believe you would bill 3 units for the cpr code, the code description does not state can only bill 1 unit.

Thank you! After further digging, my office found in a manual from a previous training session that it will be billed with a quantity 3 because the notes from the physician clearly states patient coded 3 different times.

Has this guideline changed for Medi-Cal? Just curious since I've been seeing denials for coding past 2 times on the same day for CPT 92950.

Peace

Thanks for any help in advance.
