I work for a gastroenterology specialty. Our office uses contracted CRNA's to provide anesthesia to our patients. We have no anesthesiologist available to medically direct nor do our providers supervise the CRNAs. Am I correct in coding the 00740 or 00810 with the modifier QZ in this case billing only for the CRNA services? I'm gettin conflicting information saying that I should be billing 2 separate charges, one with the AD modifier under the GI provider and one charge for the CRNA with a QS. This does not seem correct to me because our providers are not anesthesiologists. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Just bill with the QZ (and QS or G8/G9 if MAC for Medicare patients). Your gastroenterologists are not supervising anesthesiologists so they don't figure in the picture.
