I have a questions regarding ct urograms. From what I have researched on the ACR website, this is supposed to be coded as a Ct abd/pelvis with and wo contrast. They don't talk about additional codes with these codes (74170 and 72194).However, I have a situation where the radiologist is doing this procedure and adding 2 KUB xrays (cpt 74000). Has anyone out there heard of this and is it appropriate to bill this. One 74000 is done prior to the administration of the contrast for the ct abd and pelvis, and one 74000 is done after the ct exam. Does anyone out there have any coding guidelines regarding this exam??? I would greatly appreciate it.
