Hello dear friends,

Hope all are well coping with the pandemic.

I need a help in how to code the given diagnosis;

post multiple CVAs with bilateral hemiplegia

Will there be 2 ICD 10 codes ?
I69.351 Hemiplegia and hemiparesis following cerebral infarction affecting
right dominant side
I69.354 Hemiplegia and hemiparesis following cerebral infarction affecting
left non-dominant side
or could it be coded as Quadriplegia G82.50 with CVA sequale code

Your expert opinion will be highlighted appreciated, also please share if any guideline supporting the coding

Thanks and Best Regards,

I would only code Quadriplegia if the documentation states that specifically, so I would go with coding both hemiplegia ICD-10 codes instead.
