Ihave an op note that states that a very hard, thick sebaceous cyst was excised from the posterior chest wall. The dr wants to use 21930 but I am leaning toward 11406. The word tumor sorta throws me off. Any thoughts on this one?

Thanks in advance,

What does the path state? If it states it was a cyst then I would use the 11xxx codes. If it is a lipoma, then the muscoskeletal codes would be appropriate.

Can you post the note

Can you post the note? If he is going beneath the subq you definitely want to use a code other than from the integumentary section.

21930 is not restricted to only malignant tumors.
