Has anyone been notices cysto getting denied for no prior auth? This was just brought to my attention by one of the nurses in the office I work for. I haven't seen any information stating that a prior auth is needed for a cysto being done in the office. I don't know about everyone else's urologist but my guys will do a cysto on the fly. So has anyone else noticed this? The CPT code I am using is 52000.
 
We haven't had any scopes denied in the office, but I am aware that United HealthCare requires a scope to be authorized when performed in the hospital. What insurance are you having trouble with?
