We are billing 58570 for the robotic surgery, but I am not sure we can bill for a certified surgical tech also. This code states we can bill for the assistant but since the physician is using robotics I am not sure we can charge for the assistant. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

The role of the surgical tech is very important in robotic surgery and is billable. Our tech is bedside with the patient, while the physician is at the console/controls. She is instrumental in facilitating the placement of the machinery in the arms of the robot, removing the uterus, etc. at the direction of the physician.
